About Stone Gate Manor™
Stone Gate Manor is a Gothic 14th Century Manor house built with 95% recycled and salvaged material. It took the owners over 7 years to build Stone Gate Manor, reminiscent of 14th Century England in East Rochester, Ohio.
The owners felled over 200 trees on the property and sawed them into boards with a portable sawmill, saving over $38,000.00. Stone was harvested from around the property, and slate was gathered from local barns. One hundred-fifty year old chestnut, walnut and red oak barn lumber was salvaged and planed for windows. They found antique church glass.
The owners built stained glass reminiscent of medieval designs they saw in England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales with recycled dumpster glass. A carved Gothic fireplace mantel reputedly from an Alfred Hitchcock movie graces the sitting room.
As of the date of this writing, nearly 5,000 people have toured Stone Gate Manor. It has been featured in a movie and was the subject of a documentary.
